A little step by step of painting this praying mantis piece for “Night Critters” our duo exhibition with @alariho at @gallerynucleus

For all the dark backgrounds of my pieces I used a base of Parker ink, one of the most magical media I've ever tried. The oxidation of its minerals turns out very different each time, depending on its density and the amount of water used. I can never predict the nuances and speckles that are going to appear each time and I love that surprising chaos!
